Apple iOS 11.2.5 Has A Great Secret Feature

What’s New in iOS 11.2.5?

Apple has just released the official version of iOS 11.2.5. This new version of iOS is all set to introduce Apple’s HomePod support, as usual some bug fixes and also is supposedly causing problems for some other users. Apple has jumped directly onto iOS 11.2.5 missing 11.2.3 and 11.2.4.
iOS 11.2.5 is actually a maintenance release which is larger than the average maintenance releases.

Downloading iOS 11.2.5:

If you are currently on iOS 11.2.2 then downloading iOS 11.2.5 will take you a matter of only 10 minutes and maybe even less with speedier networks.

This version of iOS is a bit bigger than the previous two versions and can take up to a few minutes to update and install. The time may vary according to the Apple device and network connection. Updating from iOS 11.2.2 will be faster than updating from a much older version.

Battery life after iOS 11.2.5:

While some report no problems after updating to iOS 11.2.5 others are experiencing various problems and one of them relates to battery life.

While on the other side of the same coin, users are stating that they have experienced improved battery performance after downloading iOS 11.2.5. This occurrence seems to be unpredicted for, as Apple has not listed battery fixes as a fix when updating to iOS 11.2.5

New features in iOS 11.2.5:

iOS 11.2.5 brings users a new Siri feature whereby the voice assistant can be asked about news podcasts. Apple started introducing the feature a while back with iOS 11.2.2. Now with iOS 11.2.5 the news podcasts are available to the US, Australia and the UK.

Also coming with iOS 11.2.5 is support for apple’s HomePod. You can now transfer all your Apple id, music and Siri and WiFi settings to HomePod and get it set up.

The HomePod is due to be released in Febuary of this year.

Issues in iOS 11.2.5:

Many users after downloading the iOS 11.2.5 update are encountering problems relating to frozen downloads, problems with third party apps, battery drain, issues concerning connectivity whether to WiFi, data or Bluetooth connectivity. Additional issues relate to face id and touch id.

Apple is also offering users a chance to drop back to iOS 11.2, iOS 11.2.1 or iOS 11.2.2 if they are not happy with the iOS 11.2.5 download.

Security patches with iOS 11.2.5:

iOS 11.2.5 has also brought with it security patches including one relating to chaiOS link. Those devices running on iOS 11.2.2 or older and receive a GitHub link as a message in your messaging app, it can mean that your device will respring or lockup. Brsides this, the messaging app may also cease to function.

Another security release relates to spectre. iOS 11.2.5 brings a security improvement for WebKit and Safari which protects users from spectre.

If you do not have the current version of iOS 11.2.2 and have some older version then downloading iOS 11.2.5 will come with a lot more security fixes than updating directly from iOS 11.2.2

Apple iOS 11.2 Release: Should You Upgrade?

Apple has just released a new iOS update, version iOS 11.2. You should download it as soon as possible to fix important operating system failures.

A more discreet detail that opens with iOS 11.2 is a small line under the Wi-Fi signal and battery indicators of the iPhone X. It only appears on the lock screen, indicating that from there you can slide your finger down to invoke the center of control.

Apple has in the past few days rigged what is probably the largest collection of 'software' failures in the company's recent history. And several of them have been serious. The most compromising was found in macOS, which allowed anyone with physical access to your Mac to enter as a computer administrator without even typing a password. The thing did not end there. Very recently, millions of iPhones in half the world restarted alone due to a problem with the operating system. The matter caused so much commotion that Apple has been forced to launch an update of iOS 11.2 to solve it. Luckily, it comes with other interesting developments.

Apple has just released an update of its operating system. iOS 11.2 arrives Replaces the previous version that you most likely have now on your iPhone, 11.1.2. The reason for launching it now is in the failure that millions of users experienced last Saturday, December 2, when their phones began to restart alone once the clock struck at 00:15. The problem had to do with third-party applications that sent notifications repeatedly.

After the initial alarm, a solution to the problem was to deactivate the notifications or adjust the date to a day before December 2. It was a temporary patch. Apple has just released version iOS 11.2 of the system that solves the problem. It is not the only novelty. Another of the most anticipated is the availability of Apple Pay Cash, the function to send, request or receive money between friends and family through iMessage or through Siri. The downside is that at the moment it is only available in the US, but it should not take long to reach some European countries as well.

How does it work? You can see here a demo video. In some parts of Europe Apple Pay already works with Banco Santander, Openbank and Caixabank, so it is expected that, at the beginning, to use Apple Pay Cash you also need to have an account in one of these entities.

Other news that we can access, when downloading iOS 11.2 is the fastest wireless charging if you have an iPhone 8, 8 Plus or iPhone X. The update includes support for wireless charging at a speed of 7.5 watts, so these should be much faster, although Apple does not specify exactly how much more.

What are the other novelties? You will see new wallpapers for the iPhone X, more stabilization of the video camera, the problem is solved by which the Music controls could not appear on the locked screen and also other failures such as the calculator showing incorrect operations when typing the numbers too fast. You can see here all the news of the update. A version iOS 11.2 with which Apple hopes to forget its worst week in a long time.

iPhone has a Frustrating AutoCorrect Bug That's Driving People Crazy

 IPhone X: The Autocorrect Bug

With the release of the iPhone X, Apple has seen some crazy sales, with ques of people queuing up in front of Apple stores for hours and hours on end. Apple is even having to replenish stocks with some customers being on the order list for 4-5 weeks before they get their brand new iPhone X.

After going through all the rigmarole of getting An iPhone X, people are now facing an autocorrect issue. This AutoCorrect bug seems to pertain to the typing of the letter I. It seems when users go to type the letter I they get an A followed by an exclamation mark or an A followed by a question mark in a box, something that looks like this A! or this A[?] when you type it out on the iPhone X.

Number of AutoCorrect Bug cases reported:

The problem seems to persist in only some iPhones while there are cases of the AutoCorrect bug being reported in iPads, iPods and other iPhones as well.

The AutoCorrect bug has not affected the whole population of iPhone X users but it is sufficiently large enough for Apple to take steps to correct the issue.

Reasons of the Autocorrect Bug:

As of now Apple has remained mum on the issue other than to say that the problem may be due to IOS 11.1. But there are users who claim that they have faced this AutoCorrect bug even when their Apple devices are running on previous versions of IOS. But with all issues out there, there are also those who are dedicated to giving some reason or the other for the problem. Some Theorists out there speculate that it is because of both an autocorrect problem and an emoji problem that the bug has cropped up.

Extent of the AutoCorrect Bug:

The problem can be irritating while you are typing and want to be done with the text. But this bug is not only confined to Apple specific apps but to other applications as well. So now even you’re Tweets and various other posts will look like spam considering the amount of times an individual uses or wishes to use the letter I.

Solving the AutoCorrect Bug:

Apple is now saying that they are releasing a new version of IOS which will reportedly solve the AutoCorrect issue. The Beta version of the IOS is all set for release with the actual version coming in the next week or so.

Apple has issued a temporary fix which users can do for themselves by going to settings, general, keyboard, text replacement and adding a new replacement i in the place of I and press save. This is short term solution and hopefully with the new version of IOS we can say bye to all our AutoCorrect woes.

Apple to fix iOS 11 Reachability Bug that Restricts Cover Sheet Pulldown

Apple’s Reachability Bug

Reachability Bug

User’s of Apple’s iOS 11 are now encountering a Reachability Bug problem in using the reachability feature. The reachability feature allows the user to reach the top screen and its apps by double tapping the home button, thereby allowing ease of access to any user. Right now users are encountering Reachability Bug problems when coversheets clashes with reachability.

The notification feature in Apple is now called as cover sheets. Cover sheets is used to combine your lock screen with your notifications. Now a user can get their notifications on their lock screens with all the other lock screen features such as the time and other lock screen info. The notifications are shown in chronological order and are not grouped according to app. Although it is very similar to the old notification center there appear to be differences in the notification options.

The Reachability Bug has only arisen with the iOS11 edition when the reachability feature and cover sheet features have been introduced together. At present it is not known if the bug is a software glitch or otherwise. Apple’s chief software engineer says that they are working to remedy the situation. This has led to hopes that the company intends fixing the bug in future revisions to iOS 11.

Apparently, In iOS 11 the user could access reachability by double tapping the home button and getting all their apps which were on the top of the screen closer to their finger tips. This could be done for easier one-handed access. After this they could swipe down just below the app line instead of all the way up to access all their notifications. But it seems this feature is not present or has been overlooked by the Apple team in iOS 11. Therefore the user would have to reach all the way up to access those notifications. This has severely hampered user’s utility. Such a Reachability Bug has not been seen in previous IOS versions.

The recently launched iphone X does not come with the reachability feature. But an Apple developer has seen the code work for reachability support, thereby hinting at the new iphone X coming with the reachability feature in the near future.

Recently Apple has released iOS 11.1 beta version for developers and individuals alike for testing. Apparently the reachability and coversheet glitch namely Reachability Bug has not yet been addressed in this newer version. The 3d touch multitasking app has been brought back in the beta 2 version of iOS 11.1

Apple is now working to remedy the Reachability Bug which will come in the near future.

Apple Releases iOS 11.0.2 Software Update

 iOS 11.0.2

iOS 11.0.2 For Fixing Crackling Sound On iPhone 8

The iOS 11.0.2 has been made available to Apple users on their iPhones, iPod touch and iPads. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus users experienced crackling sound during calls.

It was not clear what caused the crackling sound. The earpiece seemed to work fine even on affected iPhones, but during calls , there seemed to be a faint crackling sound, which was annoying to the users. They took to social media to report this problem and seek help. Apple confirmed the problem and said it affected a few of its users. To fix this problem, Apple has come out with iOS 11.0.2. It also fixes other minor bugs as well.

Apple did not release any betas before the iOS 11.0.2. It is the second update since it launched iOS 11 on 19th September.

The iOS 11 included additional features to the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It included Indoor mall and airport maps, Do Not Disturb while driving, Live photos editing, multitasking features in the iPad, new files app, document scanning in notes.

The iOS 11.0.1 also aims to fix certain issues which the users have complained about. It fixed the Exchange email server problem. There improvements in performance as seen in the iMessage app Drawer, App Explorer and Springboard.

The iOS 11.0.2 is focused on fixing up the iOS 11 and iOS 11.0.1 problems. It seems to be a solution for bug fixes and improvement in performance, also including the crackling sound during phone calls.

Initially, the problem of the crackling audio was believed to be a hardware issue. Apple released the beta version of iOS 11.1 last week and the problem was resolved with a software update. In order to expidite the fixing of the bug, it released the iOS 11.0.2. The iOS 11.0.2 also fixes two other issues. The one that could cause the photos to be hidden as well as the problem where attachments in S/MIME encrypted emails would not open. It does not have any additional security content , it includes the same security from iOS 11.0

The iOS 11.0.2 is a maintenance update with a fairly big download of 278MB . It should take about a minute or two to download if you have a fast Wi-Fi network.

You need to go to the Settings app on your iPhone, click ‘General’ and then ‘Software Update’. This update can be downloaded from your computer as well. You need to plug your iPhone to the computer and go to iTunes to update. It would be safe to backup your device in case anything should go wrong. Make sure that the iCloud backups in your device settings are working or backup can be done using iTunes.

For data protection on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you need to have the iOS 11/iOS 11.0.2 . This is especially essential for those using the older versions of iOS.

In a gist

iOS 11.0.2 includes bug fixes and performance improvement in iPhones, iPads and iPod touch
  1. The crackling audio during phone calls for the iPhone8 and iPhone 8 Plus has been fixed.
  2. It solves the problem where some photos become hidden.
  3. The attachments in S/MIME encrypted emails would not open and this problem too is resolved.

iOS 11: The 11 Best Features of Apple New Software

iOS 11
Welcome iOS 11 and its great innovations that promise to improve the experience we have on our iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Tim Cook, chief executive of Apple, officially introduced during WWDC 2017 to iOS 11, the next version of the company's mobile operating system.

iOS 11 brings new features for iMessage, Apple Pay advances, more intelligence for Siri, new features for the camera and a new Control Center design. However, there are many more novelties that we collect below.

What's new in iOS 11

New Control Center

iOS 11 brings a new design for the Control Center to integrate all the tools in a single screen. In addition, this Control Center can be customized and compatible with 3D Touch, which allows enabling more control commands.

News in notifications

Now you can slide your finger from bottom to top to see all notifications in one place on the lock screen. In addition, the Notifications panel now shows you the notifications of today and if you slide up it shows you a screen with notifications of other days. You need to swipe from the bottom edge to close the notifications panel and return to Start.

On the other hand, in the configurations you can select if you want to show notifications previews always, when unlocked or never, giving you more control.

Keyboard for one-handed use

Hold down the emoji virtual key and select the handwriting to let the keyboard tilt to one side, similar to what different Android keyboards have offered.

iMessage in the cloud

iMessage will now sync with iCloud to allow conversations to be synced across all your devices; so, if you delete one of the messages on your iPhone, it will be erased from your iPad.

Also, when you activate your new iPhone, your entire conversation will be rebuilt quickly.

Apple Pay to make payments between friends

Apple Pay comes to iMessage to receive or send money to friends. The money will be stored in Apple

Pay Cash and you can use it to pay someone else or to make purchases with Apple Pay. Also, when someone asks you for money, the keyboard on your iOS device will suggest you use Apple Pay to pay.

Camera and photo optimizations

The camera app now brings new filters that allow you to better highlight what you captured.

You can also create Live Photos loops, crop, play, and rewind a captured moment, mute, and get an extended exposure to create a drag effect.

In addition, the videos and photos will take less space, thanks to the new format HEVC and HEIF video that manages to occupy only half the space.

On the other hand, Apple will allow the depth information captured with the two cameras of the iPhone 7 Plus can be used by developers to create different effects and photos in low light can take advantage of the optical image stabilization of the cameras.

Also, now you can see Memories in portrait mode, not just horizontal.

Apple Maps are more efficient

The Apple Maps app will be updated with iOS 11 to provide shopping and airport information.

In addition, Apple Maps will include the speed limits and will indicate which lane you must take to follow the navigation directions, similar to what Google Maps has offered for some years.

These new features of Apple Maps will only be applied in some cities and airports in the beginning but are expected to be extended to more places in the future.

New way not to distract while driving

When you install iOS 11, you will receive the option to activate the new Do Not Disturb While Driving mode.

If activated, this new mode will detect that you are in motion and will turn off the screen and will not show you notifications. In addition, it will include an autoresponder message to indicate that you are driving, but it will show you some notifications of your favorite contacts, in which case they are emergency communications.

However, if you are not the one driving, you can activate the screen and select to deactivate that mode.

HomeKit, AirPlay 2 and Apple Music: Smart home with music AirPlay 2 lets you play music through different speakers in different rooms in your home, and you can control everything from the HomeKit app on your iOS device.

Also, Apple Music allows you to create public playlists so your friends can see it and even add their own songs.

On the other hand, Apple is opening up Apple Music so that other developers can access its catalog, including Nike and Shazam. For example, when you detect a song in Shazam you can add the song to your list of Apple Music with a single click.

New App Store

The Apple App Store, App Store, brings a completely new design.

The App Store now has different tabs including: Today, games, apps, updates and searches.

Today's tab lets you discover new apps and games, while the Featured app helps highlight popular apps and an organization in different categories.

What is more interesting is that the App Store now will show you tips and tricks of all kinds of apps and games, through video and photos.

On the other hand, Apple promises that with the new app store the company will be able to evaluate and approve apps in just 24 hours, although in many cases it could take an hour or two.

ARKit: Apple Augmented Reality

Apple is creating a new augmented reality platform directly on iOS 11. With this new tool Apple will allow developers to create all kinds of augmented reality experiences.

Core ML: The Apple Machine Learning Intelligence for Everyone

Apple is enabling machine learning so developers can take advantage of it and give their apps a little more intelligence.

Auto Setup

Did you buy a new iPhone? Just bring it closer to another device with iOS or macOS so that many of your iCloud Keychain settings, preferences and passwords are imported automatically.

File or File App: File Manager

The new Files app lets you browse, search and organize all your files.

Files not only allows you to manage files on your iPad, but also access files you have on other devices with iOS (on iCloud Drive), as well as files in services such as Box, Dropbox or Google Drive.

Siri is smarter:

Siri understands more of your life

Apple adds new intelligence to its virtual assistant, Siri, to offer suggestions for different apps. For example, if you visited a page of an event in Africa, News may suggest something related to that.

More natural language

Apple claims that in iOS 11 Siri will have a more natural language so that it sounds much more like a person of flesh and blood.

Offers translations (beta)

Siri will help you translate from English to French, Italian, German and Spanish, but hopefully in the future, it will work with more languages.

Communicate with Siri via text

iOS 11 will allow you to write to communicate with Siri with the function called "Type to Siri". Other new features in iOS 11:
  • Password autocompletion in apps
  • Changes to the Podcast app design
  • New NFC reading mode
  • New extension of fraud detection through text messages
  • QR Code Compatibility for Scanning with the Camera
  • Support for swapping Safari tabs using 3D Touch

  • Function to record the screen
  • Status of flights in Spotlight and Safari
  • New feature for sharing files via iCloud
  • Emergency function (SOS) on the iPhone
  • HomeKit triggers based on user presence and duration

  • Advanced Wi-Fi Network Analysis
  • New design to invert colors (Classic or Smart) by pressing the Start button three times
  • Family sharing plans iCloud storage
  • Settings titles, Mail, and other Apple apps are larger.
  • Additional functions for the iPad
  • New 'dock'
The new iOS 11 dock on the iPad will always be present so you can quickly access the apps that matter most to you. Although when you are using an app in full screen the dock will not be present, you can slide up to see it.

Best multi window

With the help of this new dock, you can drag an app to your screen to activate the multi-window functions in a simple way.

Support for dragging files

Although the dock is the one that allows you to drag apps to activate the multi-window functions, iOS 11 lets you drag and drop all kinds of files.

For example, now you can drag photos to an email so you can share what you want in a more intuitive way.
New App switcher or App Exchanger

The new apps exchanger now has a laptop design.

Annotations

With the Apple Pencil and iOS 11 in the iPad Pro, you can write and draw in the Notes app, screenshots or PDFs (including PDF books), just like the Mail app.

The final version of iOS 11 will be available on September 19th as a free upgrade. The iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X arrive with iOS 11 the first time you turn them on.

First impression

iOS 11 is focused on many refinements of what Apple was offering in its operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, but the most interesting news will be received by the iPad. These changes make the iPad work more like a laptop, increasing the possibilities of what this device can offer. In addition, the new designs of some iOS 11 components refresh a little the experience we have in these devices.

In general, the changes are welcome and make iOS 11 feel like a more modern operating system.

Apple iOS 10.3.3 Is Now Available: What Is Included In This Update?

iOS 10.3.3

IOS 10.3.3: Apple released fifth beta

Can we soon expect the general rollout of iOS 10.3.3? Apple has released the fifth beta for the next update of its operating system. The increased frequency of the test versions points to the upcoming release for all users - the fourth beta was released less than a week ago. Apple has released a new version of iOS 10 with iOS 10.3.3 after a short beta, which does not bring any new functions, but closes security gaps.

Apple has released iOS 10.3.3 for owners of iPhones and iPads. The update closes security gaps of the mobile operating system. This is a maintenance update without any new functions. A total of 46 vulnerabilities are closed with the update.

A small innovation includes iOS 10.3.3 but for the iPad Pro with 12.9- and 10.5-inch display: For both tablets the update is to include new background images. Parallel to the iOS beta, Apple has also released the fifth test version of macOS 10.12.6. Also the rollout of the new version of the Mac operating system should take place in the near future for all users.

These concern the contact app that attackers can use to execute malicious code. In the core audio section, it is possible to inject and execute code with a manipulation. This also applies to the EventKitUI and IOUSBFamily, and even kernel privileges can be achieved when attacking the latter. Fixes are also available in the Messages area, in the Web browser Safari with Webkit, as well as in the print functions of the browser. Even the phone app got a security update.

Apple released all the information in detailed release notes. The update to iOS 10.3.3 can be over-the-air. It is recommended to back up the iOS device. This is also suggested by the fact that Apple's fifth beta version of iOS 10.3.3 only available for developers and then as a public beta. Thus, soon all users of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch could benefit from the improvements. As the previous versions have shown, the focus is on updating to bug fixes and increasing performance; New features will not bring the update to the compatible devices.

Those who wants, can now download the final version of iOS 10.3.3 and install it on the iPhone and iPad. The betaphase was unusually long and six iterations large.

Apple has released the next beta generation of iOS 10, which is now complete, after the final versions of macOS Sierra 10.12.5, iOS 10.3.2, tvOS 10.2.1 and watchOS 3.2.2 have appeared. In the fall iOS 11 comes on the market, which is also already tested.

Maintenance updates and security enhancements instead of new features

The update, as in the previous generation, will only fix errors and increase security. New features are not included. Probably it is the last version of iOS 10.

The vulnerabilities found are partly critical, allowing attackers to run CodeResponsive websites with Dreamweaver and bootstrap on the affected device. The update should not be deferred but installed at the next opportunity via the iOS settings.

How to Keep iPhone Autocorrect in Check

Autocorrect
If you write a lot with the virtual iPhone keyboard, you will likely get used to the auto-correction, but you can deactivate it if necessary. If the auto correct is deactivated, it is recommended to leave the normal correction activated at least. This still indicates errors but does not automatically repair them. The relevant options can be found in the General and Keyboard settings. Regardless of whether Auto Correct is activated or deactivated, errors sometimes occur when typing quickly. So far you have probably deleted the erroneous word to the point where the error happened and rewritten it from there on. It does not have to be! Here you can learn how to correct your words faster.

Actually, we would just like to tell a friend or a friend that we can still have a coffee after the meal. However, we are typing "sitll" instead of "still".

Instead of deleting the wrong word and re-writing it, just press the backspace key on the virtual keyboard of your iPhone. If the blue bar is at the end of the wrong word, a correction suggestion should appear which you select by tapping. Of course this does not work with every word. If necessary, press the Backspace key a couple of times until you reach the end of the wrong word.

If you have selected the correction, the incorrect word is replaced by the correct one. The correction function becomes annoying when you write with friends and use a dialect or dialect phrases. The iPhone does not recognize the various dialects and therefore makes relatively nonsensical suggestions for improvement or directly makes improvements in the case of auto-correct. We'll show you how to disable this feature easily.

Disable iPhone Auto Correction

If you want to disable the auto correct on the iPhone, go to the settings and select the General item. Scrolls a little down and taps on keyboard. There you will find the menu point Auto Correct, which you can activate and deactivate with a fingertip.

If you have problems with automatically corrected dialect or abbreviations, you probably work with auto-correction. You should disable it in this case. Apple has put the Auto Correct function so deep into the system settings. After all, iOS devices are selling around the world and one can assume that people with the most diverse dialects write texts on their iPhones. However, there is still no way to switch the function on and off quickly.

What you should consider when writing the text with the iPhone

The relatively small keys on the screen keyboard and some pre-set automatisms can be terribly annoying when writing to the otherwise exceptionally user-friendly iPhone:

When typing, keep in mind the upper / lowercase key. At the beginning of the block and after a block end character, the capitalization is activated automatically, recognizable by the white arrow symbol. Unfortunately, this really meaningful automatism is in some cases inappropriate, for example if you have a shortcut like "etc." insert.

Even more annoying are unwanted suggestions, because if you do not tap the cross symbol on the top right, your text will quickly get mixed up.

Especially if you want to go fast, you can quickly get to wrong keys - if a wrong word suggestion is inadvertently inserted or the capitalization unintentionally activated, the chaos is perfect.

This Tiny iOS Change Will Make Your iPhone Even Zippier

iOS
After a long wait Apple has finally rolled the update for the iOS 10.3 which is expected which will started hitting the devices from Monday. Those who got the chance to get the latest update early on their devices are claiming that their device is surprisingly faster than earlier. iPhone is running with a new vigour and performance is simply way better than it was being produced before the update.

But this isn’t the surprisingly thing which we would love to share with the iPhone users. It is widely known that the new update tends to improvise on the performance of the OS which ultimately helps in getting better output from the existing hardware. But this update has shown a new insight into how the iPhone can be made run much better even after the update.

The key hidden feature

The latest update brings a relatively new kind of fancy file system which plays a judgement role in freeing up the storage space on the OS. But this isn’t the only major improvement made in the iOS by the developers at the Apple. One of the Apple engineer going by the name of Renaud Lienhart has revealed on the Twitter one of the undocumented tweak implement in the OPS. This particular tweak has helped in improving the performance of the iPhone to a whole new extent.

What this tweak is all about?

The update iOS 10.3 brings a wide range of snappier animation for the OS which allows it to perform exceptionally well. All the animation present on iOS was tweaked as well as shortened to a great extent by the team of the Apple engineers.

The animation which has been the talking point in the whole case of performance boosting relates to almost every aspect of the operating system experience. This animation can be seen in the opening, closing or switching between different apps. It would be absurd to think that simply optimizing the animation will help in getting better performance out a device. Rather this has helped in improving the responsiveness of the OS to the user’s commands or gestures which ultimately gives a feeling of improved performance on the iPhone. This tiny change has made it easier to perform multitasking on the iPhone.

Why wait? Just Update to 10.3 & See the difference

If you are tired with the slow performance of your iPhone then waste no time and update your device to the latest 10.3 version. This will allow you to get the speed boost and it is very good thing to keep your device updated with the latest version of OS as it helps in safeguarding the devices from wide range of bugs and it brings a whole range of fixes. A major bug has been rooted from the iOS with this update which is called Safari ransom bug. In short 10.3 update not just speeds up your iPhone but it also helps in keeping device secure against the bugs.

How to Use Find My AirPods Feature in iOS 10.3

 Find My AirPods

One of the pioneers of creating high tech gadgets, Apple has never failed to surprise its customers. Yet again, Apple has come up with something new that is bound to awe its loyal customers. The company has recently released iOS 10.3 officially, and as usual it is packed with a host of surprises. AirPods users would find themselves lucky, for the gadget’s updated version is all set to amuse the users. The Find My iPhone feature is now available on AirPods, and it would make the process of finding misplaced AirPods incredibly easy.

Easier to locate misplaced earbuds

The feature called Find My Airpods is new and thus a few glitches are quite common. This AiPod feature is not quite sophisticated as the iPhone one, as one has to connect their iPhone to their AirPods for making this new feature functional. This also means that if the two devices are present not quite close to each other, the feature will not operate. However, Apple is known for its constant customer dedication and thus every AirPod user can be assured that the company will try its best to find the misplaced device. This new feature is accessible just like the other ‘Find’ services for Apple Watch, iPod, iPad, and Mac.

Find My AirPod

For using this new and enhanced Apple feature, simply log into the Find iPhone application, and find ‘AirPods’ in the list of available devices. From there, you will find where all the Apple products including the Airpods are located. For locating the AirPod only, tap the option given and you’ll find an option which will allow you to play a song on the device. You’ll also find a similar option which will allow you to mute the right or left AirPod for stopping the music. The feature of stopping the music is provided to help you locate only one of them if you’ve not misplaced both. Although, the sound emitted isn’t that loud, but it is enough to find a misplaced earbud in a moderately quiet environment.

Keep it connected with the iPhone

For those of you, who have started using iPhone or AirPods for not that long need to know that the feature will only work if the AirPods are connected to the iPhone. In case, your device isn’t connected to the AirPods or you’ve misplaced them in some other location you will only get to see its last location. Even if you press the ‘play sound’ button you’ll receive a screen pop up saying ‘sound pending’. However, while most of us are in the habit or losing or misplacing earbuds, this function will be a boon for all Apple users.

It’s quite useful for tracing nearby AirPods. Even though Apple has made it far easier to locate misplaced gadgets (that are expensive), losing them at a faraway location might make it difficult for you to locate. Inspite of this slight technical hurdle, the feature is advantageous and even more applaud able is the gadgets wireless design. So, if you’ve invested in AirPods no need to fret if you’ve managed to misplace it. Apple’s impeccable features will help you locate the device and save you from the hassle of buying new ones.

Apple support for 64-bit apps is not new

Apple going for the 64-bit apps is not a new thing as it was first on iOS after the launch of the iPhone 5s in 2013. In 2014 Apple put forward on the developer’s web page wherein it stated that all the apps developed from now on will have to offer 64 bit support. Later on in June 2015 Apple started ensuring that all the apps on App Store are 64 bit. When iOS 10 had been introduced earlier in the year by Apple, one of the tent-pole additions in the software of the company had been extensive improvement in the digital personal assistant – Siri. Over the years, Siri has been progressing due to a focus on machine learning and new features combined in the mobile operating system, enabling third party application developers in gaining access on stock apps as well as their features. Siri would be getting a big enhancement with iOS 10 later in the year.

Siri’s voice could be more natural when iOS 10 tends to arrive this fall probably this September owing to its machine learning technology which Apple would be implementing according to an interview disclosed recently. Steven Levy had an impressive interview on Backchannel with various executives of Apple including Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, Phil Schiller and Craig Federighi.

Plenty of focus has been drawn on Siri, with improvements and how it would impact Apple’s progress. The interview did not begin with the statement with regards to Siri but expressed as to why Siri was so important for Apple’s progress and how would the digital personal assistant become over the years as well as why iOS 10 would be a big upgrading over all that has already been upgraded over a period of time.

Replacing Earlier Licensed Implementation

With the release of iOS 10, this fall, Siri’s voice would be the last of the four components which would be transformed by machine learning and a deep neural network is said to be replacing the earlier licensed implementation. Tom Gruber, head of advanced development for Siri, observed that when the responses of the assistant are yet being darned together from the central database of recordings, the machine learning tends to smooth out sentences, making Siri sound much more human.

The robotic- sounding voice of Siri has frequently been deceived and disapproved. Recently singer Barbra Streisand had contacted the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, complaining regarding the way Siri pronounced her last name. Cook had replied that he would look into the problem in the forthcoming update which could have been a situation to the upgrade of Siri. The interview featuring executives such as senior VPs Eddy Cue together with Craig Federighi, observed that Apple had moved the voice recognition of Siri to a neural net-based system.

Enhanced Ability of Siri in Comprehending Commands

It is said that the technology has extremely enhanced the ability of Siri in comprehending commands. Federighi has commented that Apple had plenty of people working on the machine learning technology comprising of not only Siri but also things such as palm rejection for the Apple Pencil, though there is no central machine learning group.

Apple had moved Siri voice recognition to a neural-net based system for US users late one July day which went worldwide on August 15, 2014. Few of the earlier techniques seemed to stay operative, which comprises of the `hidden Markov model, though presently the system leverages machine learning techniques, together with deep neural networks, convolutional neural networks, long short-term memory units, gated recurrent unites and n grams.

Siri will still seem to look the same when users tend to upgrade, though now it has been supercharged with deep learning.

New iOS App Airmail Gives You Hardcore Control over Email

Airmail

Airmail – New Email App

Apps are progressively being dominant in their design. Airmail of iOS which is a new email app is the perfect opposite. The amazing beauty of Airmail is that the user is in charge of the colours, the icons, the way one reads and responds to messages, what tends to occur when you swipe a little or when one swipe a lot, which order of conversations display, what one can do to an email.

It seems like each individual Airmail user, gets to go back in time and be with the company’s designer in the creation of the precise email client they want to use. It comes at a cost of $4.99. The app, by default is a bit messy and complicated, the same way several email apps are.

It tends to feel as it is that way knowingly, so that one would look for means of turning off that red stripe near every single message in Gmail and discover the wealth trove of choices in store for the user. Airmail tends to act like it is aware that email is messy as well as complicated and its job is to support in various ways as possible.

Inbox is Limitless Filterable

The inbox is limitlessly filterable and one can see unread messages only or those with attachments or only emails, all with a single tap. While composing, an email has adequate formatting choices to choose from. User can connect Airmail to the other apps on the phone with the ability of moving stuff around.

Airmail for iOS has great number of options and it enables you to do anything one could imagine doing with email, it has snoozes, filters as well as third party app combinations and other things one may not have thought of , from setting per inbox notification sound to bouncing emails as well as change Gmail folder mapping.

Most of the things in Airmail could be changed according to one’s choice wherein you can change what tends to happen when you swipe an email, you could enable or disable the look of actions such as starring and sharing and can even reorder various core menus.

Airmail Has No Agenda

Leonardo Chiantini together with partner Giovanni Simonicca who developed the app state that the comprehensive options of Airmail tends to come by design. He had commented that `people seem to have different needs and they think that with emails, everyone takes a very different approach.

Airmail is to address the needs of professionals who tend to work regularly in their inbox. Presently it functions on the iPhone and Apple Watch and Chiantini informs that an iPad version would be coming later. Airmail is not an app which everyone should be using.

It is big, dense and rarely rough around the edges. Airmail could be the precise option if one tends to have a lot of email to go through, causing a hindrance with the prevailing app of choices that may not let you function as one may desire. Airmail for iOS is amazing since it has no agenda. It is like a scrapyard for email to deal whichever way one intend to. For any query, a live chat option on the official site of the app is available for those interested.

Secure

iOS Update – Features Like Night Shift

A preview of the upcoming iOS update had been announced by Apple recently. Included in the forthcoming iOS 9.3 update, Apple has been adding features like Night Shift which it states would help you to fall asleep easily in spite of staring at the screen after sunset.

Apple is attempting in helping users to get better rest at night with Night Shift which is a setting that tends to change the colours on the screen at night. Researchers are of the belief that the blue light produced by LED screens tends to stop the production of melatonin, the hormones which informs our brain to sleep. Changing from bright white and blue undertones to warmer colours is considered to be easier on the eyes enabling the body to fall asleep naturally.

Other features comprise of enabling multiple users accounts on an individual iPad, CarPlay improvements together with the ability to password protect personal musings in the Notes app can be located in the update. With the option to protect a note, probably comprising of details of bank account number, health information of perhaps a daily diary, it feels like it should have been in the Notes app from the beginning.

Secure Note in the Notes App

Though it is not so, Apple intends fixing the same. Users need to be aware that in order to lock a note they would have to be using the developer or public beta preview of iOS 9.3. One could learn more on the risks of running a beta version of an iOS on their device and where to sign if one intends to do so, by visiting the beta page of Apple. Those already on iOS 9.3 or planning to do so, the following needs to be done in order to secure a note in the Notes app:
  • At first, begin by selecting a note, if one would like to lock down using a password of Touch ID
  • Tap on the share button towards the upper-right hand area
  • Opt for Password Protect Note from the list of options

Presently available as Developer Preview

Should it be the first time of selecting this option, the password would be needed and a hint to the password. Observe the warning below the password unit.User would be unable to access any secured notes on non-iOS 9.3 or Mac OS S 10.11.4, also in beta devices. If one prefers to use Touch ID in addition to a password, the switch should be left in the `On’ position.

On the other hand, one could set up or change the Notes password by introducing the Setting app on the iOS device and go to Notes > Password Protection. Here you could also change the password for your Notes, if desired. Using the password set, the next time the Password Protect Note is selected from the share menu, the note would be placed behind your password and you will be able to identify which notes seem to be protected while viewing the list of notes in your account due to a lock icon seen below the title.

Presently the iOS 9.3 is made available as a developer preview which means that it is not fully completed. No information has been provided about its arrival on the iPhone or iPad, though Apple naturally releases a preview only a few months prior to the final version.

Apple Clarifies How Wi-Fi Assist Works in Wake of Claims it Eats through Your Data

iPhone

Apple’s Latest Mobile Operating System – W-Fi Assist

A new page has been created by Apple’s website clarifying that iOS 9’s Wi-Fi Assist should not show a substantial drain on data allowances. Presented by Apple, in the latest mobile operating system in mid-September, Wi-Fi Assist is one of the efforts to keep Internet connection alive when Wi-Fi coverage seems to be poor.

By default, the feature tends to switch to a cellar connection when it senses weak Wi-Fi signal. The company has explained the ins and outs of the feature wherein it claims that it should affect the data usage by a minimum percentage.

The new feature had been introduced in iPhone software update iOS 9 and is developed to switch the handset connection from Wi-Fi to cellular data automatically, when in a range of poor connection.

Some users had complained that they were being tricked into using more of the data allowance than they had expected when the feature was automatically turned on and the new software had been downloaded. In some of the phone contracts since the data allowances can be low as 500MB or 1GB, having activated the feature technically, would result in higher bills for the users.

Wi-Fi Assist A Source of Debate

The new support page read - `with Wi-Fi Assist, you can stay connected to the Internet even if you have a poor Wi-Fi connection. For example, if you’re using Safari with a poor Wi-Fi connect and a webpage doesn’t load, Wi-Fi Assist will activate and automatically switch to cellular so that the webpage continues to load.

You can use Wi-Fi Assist with most apps like Safari, Apple Music, Mail, Maps and more’. Wi-Fi Assist has become a source of debate after some users expressed concern with the feature which utilises mobile data – cellular data with their knowledge. This was a matter of concern for the users whose mobile plan permits only a small amount of data like 1GB per month while others have admired the feature stating that the feature’s mobile data usage tends to be small and comes handy in area where the Wi-Fi signal tends to be poor.

Apple has explained when and how the features tend to work in About Wi-Fi Assist page recently updated stating that-
  • The feature would not switch to cellular if your data roaming and so you won’t have to pay additional charges if you are out of the normal coverage area
  • Wi-Fi Assist only works with apps running in the foreground and won’t download content from aps in the background
  • The feature does not go into effect with certain third party apps which stream audio or video and will not download large file attachments.

Cellular Data Icon in Status Bar – iOS Device

One will get to know when Wi-Fi Assist has been activated since one will observe the cellular data icon in the status bar on the iOS device.

Apple has informed on its webpage that since one stays connected to the Internet over cellular when they have poor Wi-Fi connection, they could use more cellular data and for most users, this should only be a small percentage higher than the earlier usage.
