iOS 15 New Features [2021]

iOS 15 New Features

Yes! You have heard the right.

iOS 15 is going to launch very soon, officially. After iOS 14, this will work on the core of iOS, although it's not going to be an exciting update, and therefore, in the history of Apple, it would be the first time when you're not going to be forced by Apple to get this update. However, there is no sense of why you won't update your iOS if it is out. Though this update is not bringing any extra features, it will surely better the user experience and make it worthwhile for the customers.

So, without any further due, let's explore what's inside in this new update!

iOS 15 Release Date

Apple always launches new iOS updates with their new phone series, and it is estimated that this new update will also be officially launched with the iPhone 13 series.

Here Are The 7 Most Awaited iOS 15 New Features

Notifications Redesign

iOS has changed the interface of notifications completely. Now it will be easy to identify the contact and be arranged by priority based on the user's interaction with applications. All these processes and features will be based upon on-device intelligence.

Focus

This feature was recently introduced and helped reduce distraction by only allowing urgent notifications when using this feature.

Spotlight

This is the most amazing feature till now; you will be able to find the photos with the help of location, people, scenes, or objects. The spotlight will even be able to see text and handwriting in images.

FaceTime

iOS has improved the sound quality, especially if we talk about video calls; you will get the voice where the person is spotted on the screen. In addition, the user's voice and background noise will be separated, and you can even play with the background noise if you want. Even the portrait feature has also been introduced in this update.

SharePlay

In this feature, you will be able to share the experience. For example, you can easily share Apple Music Songs, Web series or films. You will even be able to share your screen while FaceTime calls.

FaceTimeLinks

Now, users will be able to share a link to FaceTime call through any third-party application. You can also open this link through a web browser, and you even need not worry about your security because these FaceTime calls are end-to-end encrypted.

Siri

This is going to work as a neural engine of the mobile phone. This will increase security and responsiveness, and there will also be no need for an internet connection. In short, Siri has become smarter now.

Maps

This feature has been enhanced now, and cities are more detailed now in a better 3D view. In addition, so many new modes are also introduced in this particular map feature after this big update, such as a unique 3D city-driving experience.

Wallet

This app supports many new keys as home, office, corporate, or hotel room key cards. You can control your car even with having your iPhone in your pocket. And so many new features are also joined with this update.

How to download and install

If you're also one of those who are a part of the developer program of Apple, you can easily download this new beta version. You'll get this OS publicly in July, so you need not worry if you don't have the developer program.

But if you're willing to download the beta versions on your primary phone, then you should probably drop the idea because these kinds of arrangements are usually buggy and not recommended to use.

Apple TV 4K Review (2021): Ultimately A Next-Generation Siri Remote!

Apple TV 4K Review (2021): Ultimately A Next-Generation Siri Remote!

The updated Apple TV 4K model is a great streamer — but the brand-new Siri Remote steals the show with its innovative color and high frame rate HDR.

Now that Apple has launched features, particularly HomeKit, AirPlay 2, and even iTunes, into several renowned smart TVs, are there any reasons to buy Apple TV anymore? The answer is yes.

The long-awaited refreshed second-generation Apple TV 4K has arrived, and it’s the remote that steals the spotlight. Overall, the latest remote isn’t much different from the remote that came in 2017. Aspects make it different from its predecessor, but the A12 Bionic processor allows Dolby Vision and HDR video to display at 60-frames per second to make fast action and sports look smooth and precise.

High-quality Video Experiences

A12 Bionic, high frame rate HDR (High Dynamic Range), and Dolby Vision video are the reason behind a high-quality video experience. FOX Sports, NBCUniversal, Paramount+, Red Bull TV, and Canal+ are worldwide leading video providers. A new feature allows the TV to optimize the colors of your TV screen using the light sensor on an iPhone.

The TV automatically tailors its video output to deliver much more accurate colors and improved contrast— without customers ever having to adjust their television settings. Through an innovative color balance process, TV works with iPhone and its advanced sensors to improve a television’s picture quality.

New design Siri Remote

The old TV doesn’t support 120Hz refresh rates, which might be necessary should you ever want to play serious games on an Apple TV. It also has the most notoriously bad remote control. Fortunately, the company has completely redesigned the remote for the new model with an improved, more ergonomic design and more capabilities.

The new remote is thicker than the prior model, has a new five-way touch controller in place of the maligned swipe pad of the original, and an appropriate power button to turn off your TV. The Siri search button is at the side of the remote, under your right thumb.

Apple TV 4K 2021: Specifications

Design and Build: There is overall no change in the design and build of the TV 2021. It is the same round-edged square box-shaped device with a big logo on the top. Dimensionally it is 3.9 inches on the sides and 1.4 inches in height.

Processor: The 2021 edition gets a significant boost in performance as the new Apple TV 4K (2021) gets the A12 Bionic chip from Apple, which also powered the iPhone XS, XS Max, and the XR. It was also used in the 2019 versions of the iPad Air, iPad mini, and the iPad. The A12 Bionic chip is significantly faster than the A10X processor used in the older models. Hence, the new chip will offer smoother performance and faster app loading times, which are as expected.

Ports: Unlikely, port availability remains the same as the older ones. Mainly the HDMI port, Gigabit Ethernet Port, and the power cord input. With the new upgrade, it now supports HDMI 2.14.

Comparison between New and Old

The new design is very comparable to the older version. They look alike and have most of the same capabilities, including access to Apple Arcade and Fitness+ and assistance for immersive video and audio technologies, such as 4K HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.

The distinction is that the new design has a lot of stable internals. Apple knocks it down with a faster processor (A12 Bionic) and supports HDMI 2.1 and Wi-Fi 6. This also allows the new version to support 4K TVs with higher frame rates. If you've purchased a new 4K TV within the last year or two, then the latest version will probably be able to get the most out of it.

Perhaps the most noticeable variation is that the latest launch arrives with redesigned Siri Remote. It's slightly thicker, more ergonomic, and not as well-formed, so it should be easier to navigate in the dark.

Pros:

  • Faster performance
  • HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6, and Thread for futureproofing
  • Now with improved Siri Remote
Cons:

  • Priced at a premium far above competitors
  • It can still be finicky when moving between HDR and SDR.
  • No spatial audio support for AirPods

Price and Availability of the Latest Version

The brand-new Apple TV 4K (2021) comes in two variants – a 32GB model priced at $179 and a 64GB model that will set you back $199. It’s available to pre-order now and should start shipping by the end of May – in the UK Store, and it’s showing shipping within 1-2 weeks.

This was the same price as the current model (2017) in the US when it launched. The new Siri Remote is also available to purchase separately for use with the previous-generation TV 4K and TV HD for $59.

Consequently, there isn’t much difference as far. But the new remote is pretty awesome. So if you don’t want to buy the new model, get the remote.
