Touch screens: 5 "440 dpi at LG and new Mirasol

The Korean manufacturer LG follows the lead of Sharp, who had presented last week (read: Sharp continues in IGZO screen with a 498 dpi). LG has unveiled a prototype screen 5 "Full HD, or a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The resolution of such a slab is 440 dpi - Retina screen of the iPhone has him 4S 326 dpi resolution. By comparison, the Galaxy S III which approaches the 5 "screen with its 4.8" has a definition of 1280 x 720 pixels (306 dpi).



Not content to offer a very high resolution, the LG prototype is also equipped with AH-IPS technology intended to provide very wide viewing angles.




Other prototypes, three screens revealed by Qualcomm Mirasol. For the record, Mirasol technology allows to consider providing the color electronic paper. 1.5 The model "is particularly well according to The Verge, which can already serve the watch. Consumption of such a screen is very small.

Mirasol displays two largest, 4.3 "(343 dpi) and 5.7", were also presented. The color rendering does not yet reach the quality of LCDs. However, the readability in direct sunlight is very good and low consumption. Qualcomm has not indicated availability date.
