Apple sued over fatal 'FaceTime crash'

Smartphones or iPhones can be one’s favorite pass time as it includes several interesting features and applications that can add to your amusement. At least one member in every family uses iPhone and with the increase in its popularity and decrease in price almost everyone is aware of this gadget which is surely beneficial as you can get access to several things happening in and around the world. But, yes it can only prove out to be beneficial if proper measures are taken while using it otherwise your life can be at stake

With the increase in popularity of iPhones lawsuits against Apple has also increased in number. Several cases against the Apple company have been registered in recent times because the users have become so addicted to its usage that they do not even hesitate to risk their and their fellow beings’ life.

Once An American Couple lost their son in an accident, and when the investigation took place it was discovered that the boy who was 20 years old was using Face Time on his iPhone and on further note it was found that the application was running almost for over an hour before the accident took place which proves that the boy was hardly cautious in terms of driving and when suddenly another vehicle came from the other side he could not control his car and met with a fatal accident. When the cops found the phone of the boy at the accident spot they noticed that application was still running. After this revelation the couple filed a case against Apple but it is very obvious that no matter how hard they try they will not get back their son.

Another incident took place in India where a person while driving was busy doing video chat over his iPhone hit a women who was crossing the road with her daughter and unfortunately both of them died because of the carelessness of the driver. Similarly, there are several accidents taking place almost every day and everywhere.

After so many accidents taking place the court has issued a notice against Apple regarding their Face Time, iMessage and video calling features asking them that they should launch a technology, or a software should be fed in iPhone were anyone while driving will not be able to access these features.

Though the iPhone manufacturers have not yet yielded any response in favor of the allegations but it is sure that in near future they will definitely figure out a solution to these dead ends.

We all believe that technologically advanced gadgets are very beneficial but as users we should also remain careful while availing all these benefits given by Apple so that we do not risk our life as well as others. It is good to be advanced but it is simultaneously necessary that we are careful enough to use it in a proper manner. Take the advantages of the features but be sure that it does not leads to disaster instead of privileges.

Apple’ iOS 8 – Top Quality Functions

Apple’s iOS 8 is likely to be launched this fall and in the meanwhile Apple fans and consumers can wait patiently for its latest updates on what new features lies in store with the upgraded operating system that is being offered.

The iOS 8 device of the Cupertino based company products will mark another changing upgrade to the software and would be different from its predecessor – iOS 7 which had been the most terrible change in Apple history. Its visual appearance was the most significant altered change though the iOS 8 will not bring about much alternation on how its operating system performs looks or feels.

As per Design & Trend, iOS 8 is very much the same as iOS 7 with regards to visual appearance and consumers cannot expect another major transformation on the transitions icons, etc.; on the display screen. Moreover, Apple’s iOS 8 is also said to be targeted more on top quality functions along with some preferred tweaks on the side. Minimum changes have been done but with the intention of giving a new experience to users who had been deprived of capabilities which Android users have been utilising all the time.

Keyboard Features - QuickType

The latest software update will now come with a keyboard feature known as the QuickType which suggest words like it does in SwiftKey. Apple is on its way in being more open in permitting third party developers in major parts of their devices, which is the first time that Apple is permitting third party keyboards to run on their device according to Tech Life.

The iOS 8 will be giving users the opportunity of switching keyboards with third party options. Though the default keyboard had got a major boost with the QuickType feature, Apple has come up with a decision to users with the option of switching keyboards of their choice according to their needs.

Developers of SwiftKey, Swype, Minuum and Flesky have reportedly confirmed that they will be working on keyboardswhich are iOS 8 compatible. Another feature which can be expected from the new operating updated system is the new set of system widgets for the pull down notification as well as the lock screen.

Enabling Third Party Widgets in the System

Apple could be going Android with its latest updated software as it has been confirmed by several sources that iOS 8 will enable third party widgets in its system while iOS 7 had only limited widgets, the Weather and Stock in the notification pull down.

The intended upgrade will be expanding Apple’s widget section though it may not be compared to the Windows Live Tiles and Android’s widget system. Pocket-Lint states that consumers should not expect much from this since the new widgets may not be interactive and may not even sport update element regularly.

Beside this, the iOS 8 is considered to be family friendly wherein through this new feature of Family sharing, one can have the advantage of sharing purchased iTune content such as book, music, movies as well as select apps to the other members of the family which supports up to six members in a family to share personal content.

This too comes with a system security feature which will prompt an adult member whenever a young member tries to access mature content etc. Two more additional features which are highly functional like HomeKit and Health Kit will also be included wherein HomeKit technically permits Apple devices to be connected to a wide range of third party devices and HealthKit generates data from fitness devices like the Nike Fuelband+.

Transparent Texting Technology - Walking Friendly Phone

Transparent Texting Technology
Apple has plans to develop a walking friendly phone through transparent texting technology which will enable the user to watch before leaping and save the danger of texting while walking especially if the user is outdoors. Apple, the giant tech has filed a patent for new transparency technology designed to enable iPhone users to text messages safely while walking, in creating smarter phones to help people to see where they are heading.

Their technology would be modifying the app’s background of the text and project live video images from the rear camera on the screen on whatever is in front of the user, thereby reducing the chances of tripping or bumping into obstacles while engaged in texting messages. The user would then see of what lies ahead as they walk and avoid a collision.

The US patent first filed in 2012 refers the technology as `an user who is walking while participating in a text messaging session may inadvertently collide with or stumble over objects in his path because his attention was focused on his device’s display instead of the path that the was traversing’. In the patent design, the familiar white background to iMessage chat is substituted by video with the text bubbles either in opaque or semi opaque and the transparent texting technology can be turned on or off as per the user’s choice.

App Button Adapted for Web Browsing …..

This system can be activated with the help of the in app button which could be adapted to use for web browsing as well as iBooks with text over live background and the system would need the user to point the Smartphone directly in front of them as more phone use would provide a megapixel view of the pavement. The patent stated that the development would prevent users from `colliding with or stumbling over objects’, and was filed in September 2012, with the US Patent and Trademark Office was disclosed recently by technology journalist in America.

Credits go to Stephen Ward as the inventor of the application and he states that `the background within the text messaging session can continuously be a live and current video image of the view seen by the camera at any given moment’. Device users are now less likely to stumble over objects while texting messages while walking. The application titled transparent texting adds that `with the visual nature of text messaging session, the user would often find it difficult to divide his attention between the device’s display and the environment surroundings.

Capabilities to Alter Background Projecting Live Video images

As per report on The New Zealand Herald, the transparent texting technology will have the capabilities to alter the background of the phone’s application to project live video images with the rear camera on the device’s screen helping users to see any obstructions that may be in their way while texting and walking. It is still unknown when the device would be available to iPhone users and Apple is yet to confirm if the system will be incorporated into its next iOS system. Apple’s iOS 8 is scheduled to be released in September and will furnish updates of both iPhone as well as iPad devices technologies.

Is iCloud going to use Windows Azure!?

In recent weeks, Mary-Jo Foley, a journalist specializing in Windows for ZDNet, has received several indications that Apple would use Windows Azure, the platform-as-service Microsoft. She was dismissed out of hand these rumors, but the assumption seems to be confirmed now iCloud was presented.

Sending an image IMessage causes authentication to servers Windows Azure. The study of communications network connected to IOS devices icloud indeed shows contacts with Windows Azure servers and Amazon AWS in addition to Apple's servers, as shown, for example Apple Infinite. GigaOM has sought advice from three experts from the cloud: if two do not think that such communications be sufficient evidence, the third draws an explanation of interest.

Apple already has data centers, used especially for MobileMe and updates of software. They are however not sufficient to properly distribute the content around the world: Apple relies on a distribution network (CDN), provided in particular by Akamai and Limelight. The contents are duplicated on thousands of servers around the globe to accelerate downloads. So according to this third expert, Apple would use a similar strategy to icloud: the data center of Maiden would host the master files, but copies are placed on servers Windows Azure (and Amazon AWS) as a cache.

In light of new observations of network traffic on an iPhone with iOS 5, Infinite Apple has another theory: Apple's servers would not be used to store files, but to manage the links between different files, scattered servers, Windows Azure and Amazon AWS, as close to their users.

In any case in detail, the use of external services for icloud is not surprising. While the data center of Maiden is the ninth largest in the world, but Microsoft up three data centers in the top 10: the Redmond Company has one of the largest accommodation capacity in the world, with a system, Windows Azure that has nothing to prove. Apple is pragmatic on the matter: she knows the world of data center is not his strength, and does in fact not a single Mac in the Maiden. Windows Azure is also a product that Steve Jobs knows well: his other company, Pixar, had worked in the cloud version of its rendering engine, system demonstration in the Microsoft cloud.
