  • Tooth Pick
  • Microfiber cloth

Now to getting started in how to clean AirPods & Charging case:

In order to clean your AirPods and charging case just follow these steps:

  • From the cotton swab remove a little cotton for a more narrower tool to work with.
  • While trying to clean your AirPods & charging case make sure you don’t use any sort of liquids. You don’t know how they will react to the device.
  • For tougher spots you can use the tooth pick. The tooth pick will be able to get in to never before gone areas and clean them out.
  • If there are still a couple of spots that could use a finer cleanse, then you could always try using a paper clip. Just make sure you don’t damage you’re device while doing so.
  • Blu Tack is another great option when it comes to removing tough grime from your AirPods.

Apple’s Advice in Cleaning your AirPods & Charging Case:

Apple’s only advice seems to be to use a lint free cloth. Besides that they also say not to use any liquids, aerosols and don’t leave moisture in any openings. If needed slightly dampen the cloth with isopropyl alcohol.

A micro fiber cloth is great for the outside of your AirPods, but when it comes to the inside, it is better to use a tooth pick or a cotton swab. But whatever use make sure you’re using it with care. You don’t want anything getting damaged or any free cotton fiber getting stuck inside.

Apple also sells these microfiber cloths for $9 for a six pack and $10 for a 24 pack. A little heads up- the 24 pack cloth one is larger than the 6 pack one.

Cleaning the Charging Case:

When it comes to cleaning the charging case, it is the charging ports that tend to get dirty. Before you try anything else, it’s better to use a blow dryer to get out any of the dirt. Whatever you do be gentle as that spot can get damaged easily.

In case you’re in a tough spot and that too literally, you can always head on to your local Apple store for some help.
