All you need to know about Apple Card

All you need to know about Apple Card
Apple Card is the new credit card that will be launched by Apple later in the year. The card will be linked to Apple Pay and built into the Wallet App. The iPhone users can sign up for this card.

For the Apple Card, Apple is partnering with Goldman Sachs. It will be linked to Apple Pay and can be used just like any other credit card for all your transactions.

How do you sign up for the Apple Card?

You need to open the Wallet app, tap on the Apple Card interface and go through the activation steps. As soon as you have signed up for the card, you can use it for digital purchases. However, there will be a pre-qualified application process which needs to be done. Based on your credit approval, you will qualify for the card.

In the event of traditional purchases, you need to have the physical Apple Card.

How to use Apple Card with Apple Pay?

This credit card works with any credit or debit card that is stored in the Wallet app for use with Apple Pay. The credit card could be set as the default card for online purchases on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It could also be used for in store purchases on your iPhone.

How to use Apple Card for Non-Apple Pay purchases?

If you need to make purchases that cannot be made with Apple Pay, then you need to use the physical Apple Card. The physical card will be sent by Apple when you have signed up for it.

Besides partnering with Goldman Sachs, Apple will be in collaboration with Mastercard. The physical card can be used wherever Mastercard is accepted.

The physical Apple Card

This card is made from titanium. It is laser etched and has your name on it. The front of the card does not have a card number or expiry date. The back of the card does not have the CVV number nor the signature. In the eventuality of your card getting lost or stolen, no one can use it for making online purchases.

On the card, however, there is the usual magstripe on the back along with the built-in chip. This is used for making chip and pin purchases. In case you need the CVV number and card number, you can get it from the Wallet app.

Once you receive your physical card, you can activate it by tapping it to the iPhone. The physical card does not support contactless payments. You need to use your iPhone for Apple Pay payments.
You do not need to pay for the Apple Card and there is no fee for getting a new card in case you lose it.

The employees of Apple are provided with Apple Cards for testing purposes, before its launch in the summer.

There is a credit limit for the creditcard. It will vary from person to person depending on the credit score.

You can pay your Apple Card balance through a linked bank account or Apple cash in the Wallet app.
