Apple Learning Coach: Apple Announces New Coaching Program

Apple has been continuously empowering educators with technology and resources. It is why professional learning has been a major factor in Apple's education offerings. Apple has now announced Apple Learning Coach. It is a very new professional learning program for the people who guide teachers for the best Apple technology. The Apple Education Community is a new hub for Apple professional learning resources. It is a collaborative space where educators can share ideas.

Updates from Apple:

They announced that Managed Apple IDs are suitable with Google Workspace. Thus, it becomes simple for It and users to keep the organizational accounts in sync. Besides, there are updates available to Apple's Classroom and Schoolwork apps.

He is Apple's vice president of Education and Enterprise Marketing. According to him, the program comes in a design suitable for educators. They are eager to offer the new program to the people.

Besides, he also said that they would launch the new Apple Education Community online. It is a vibrant space for educators helping to connect. They wish that educators will like the new features available to Classroom and Schoolwork. Thus, it can make learning more interactive.

What is Apple Learning Coach?

It is a free professional learning program used to train digital learning specialists, instructional coaches, etc. The program enables teachers to use Apple technology in the classroom, and it is a mix of virtual workshop sessions and self-paced lessons.

According to the participants, it is an actionable portfolio and a cohort of peers. They can continue education credits from Lamar University through the Texas Education Agency. Every Apple Learning Coach can realize how they can support teachers because these integrate technology into learning.

She who participated in the program's pilot is an instructional technology specialist at Berkeley County Schools. Jessica Keller taught 1st grade in West Virginia, and now she gives coaching to ten technology integration specialists. Teachers use clips to make videos with students.

ISTE released a report giving certificates that the program can earn a Seal of Alignment to its coaching standards. According to a report, it is simple to navigate and highly professional. It helps to contribute to the full use of technology for learning and teaching.

New updates from Apple:

  • They are going to launch the new Apple Education Community. It can work as the hub for Apple's depth of professional learning programs such as Apple Teacher and Apple Learning Coach. 
  • It may come with the Learning Center that is preferable to educators. The program helps to serve as a secure space for those who are willing to connect and learn from each other. 
  • Apple supports Google Workspace identity services, and it is a new feature available to Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager. Recently, Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager are compatible with Microsoft Azure Active Directory. The new feature allows IT teams ( those using Google workspace) to get similar advantages— directory sync and federated authentication. 
  • Features like directory sync, user records, and Managed Apple IDs help to save IT admins both time and effort. If you are an end-user, you can log in to the Managed Apple ID with their Google Workspace account. Thus, it becomes a great login experience for apps such as Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Messages, FaceTime, etc.

Apps of Apple for education:

It is also an essential feature. The Classroom app includes a new agendas feature that allows educators to make time-based outlines for class. For instance, an educator may schedule a stretch break using a YouTube video after 20 minutes of free reading. The classroom app comes with a highly programmable interface, and the program is a default in it. Due to having a programmable interface, you can use a separate timer app.

Apple's Schoolwork app:

The app lets educators add multimedia like it helps to add an audio recording or video into assignment instructions. Besides, it enables educators to use try-again messages to boost student engagement and facilitate comprehension.
