iPhone 8 Concept Shows Off Display Covering Entire Front of iPhone

iPhone 8
When it comes to standards of making mobile devices, Apple has set the bar pretty high year after year with their iPhone series. With its 10th Anniversary coming up, Apple is set to release its latest addition to the already glistening career of iPhones, the iPhone 8. Mobile geeks and tech enthusiasts from around the world have begun their speculation of what features would the new iPhone 8 have and how would it be different from its previous versions.

What can be expected from the new iPhone?

ConceptsiPhone has recently released a video detailing out the possible design that the new iPhone can have. The most eye catching feature that the video has is the display of the new iPhone, which covers the entire front of the device. Many reports suggest that the iPhone 8 will move towards an all glass design feature straying away from the usual metallic design they implement. However with the new iPhone 8 commercial, it can be seen that the new device will have a similar design as compared to iPhone 7 plus in addition to many newer features.

Apart from these features, the new iPhone 8 shown in the advertisement does not stray away from its original design that has been the company’s pride for many years. The volume button and the side switch designs are influenced by the original iPhone 4 models and a rounded metal frame falsifying the rumor about the new device being made in an iPhone 4 style.

A unique feature that the iPhone 8 can have is the dynamic Home button which performs similar function like the MacBook pro touch bar. However the biggest visual change in the 10th anniversary iPhone would be the use of a curved screen that uses OLED technology. This would mark the first time that an iPhone has a curved screen.

The iPhone 8 will be facing a tough competition with its release as Samsung and Google both are releasing their newest devices at the same time iPhone comes out. To keep its new innovation a step ahead, Apple has implemented an edge-to-edge display that does away with top and bottom bezels and holds features like Touch ID fingerprinting and front facing camera. The touch ID and the camera may be built directly into the display!
Special feature: Wireless charging

The new iPhone is rumored to have a state of the art long range wireless charging system, a first for any iPhone device. Long range wireless charging is superior to other wireless charging systems as it does not require your device to be in close proximity of the charging source.

The news of release of iPhone 8 has indeed caused a lot of stir and with tons of rumors and speculations flying around regarding its features and design. But all we can do is wait for Apple to officially release the iPhone 8 which is sure to be a popular indeed as it has been for many years.

Apple iPhone 8 To Have All Glass Front and Back, Stainless Steel Frame?

iPhone 8
After being snubbed by the fans and critics with lackluster launch of the iPhone 7 which offered a minor upgrade over the iPhone 6s. Apple has decided to do away with ‘S’ model release this year and it is gearing up to launch iPhone 8 during the third quarter of 2017. Rumors mills are working overtime to come up with new insights into the iPhone 8 and this time it points towards a steel frame centre with all glass based rear and front for upcoming device. This means that Apple will do away with the aluminum frame which was seen on its last range of iPhones.

Going with ‘Steel’

This isn’t the first time Apple is going to use steel in the iPhone and it was last seen in the Apple iPhone 4S models. Since then Apple has opted for the aluminum finish for its iPhone range. In another rumor it was confirmed that one of the Apple’s manufacturing partner named Jabil is secretly working on the device body which will have two reinforced glass panels. The steel frame will be utilized to hold the two pieces of glass panels together.

Apple is also being criticized for not offering enough innovation on the table when compared to its rivals after the demise of Jobs. Though Apple has brought Airpods which is a wireless earphones but it doesn’t ranks high in terms of innovation. The subsequent release of the iPhone models are also not so great in terms of innovation when Sony, Samsung and some of the Chinese rivals are bring new hype worthy devices from their stable. Apple is decisively looking for ways of cutting through the competition and brings innovation back in the play by throwing everything in the development of the iPhone 8.

Next generation iPhone 8 to be bold

The new iPhone 8 is expected to sport a new bold design language along with a bezel less OLED display. Samsung will be providing the OLED display panels for this new phone which will render extremely stunning, crisp and beautiful resolution to the users. Apple generates a major portion of its revenue from the sales of iPhone devices. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S were highly successful device from Apple in recent years in terms of number of shipments. iPhone 7 failed to generate enthusiasm and with its slow sales Apple has decided to completely overhaul the design for iPhone 8.

Some of media reports suggests that Apple will be bringing a larger device this time around apart from its usual offering in 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch Plus models. Since the size will be larger so would be the price for the device. With iPhone 7 Apple ditched the 3.5 mm headphone jack and compensated it with Airpods- awireless earphone- which has to be bought separately. Secondly Apple is still fine tuning the performance of the Airpods resulting in missing the Christmas and New Year sales season. Rumors also suggests a sleeker design with invisible home button and wireless charging capability.

Foxconn Tests Wireless Charging for iPhone 8

Foxconn

It has just few weeks since Apple has launched the iPhone 7 which has left a number of fans and critics unhappy with the end product. Still that has not made any dent in the Apple’s iPhone sales which is going off the shelves within a week of its launch at varied markets across the globe. A slew of rumors have started circulating about iPhone 8 and one of which proudly proclaims that it will feature an advanced wireless charging capability. One of the main manufacturing partners of Apple namely Foxconn is effectively working on developing wireless charging modules for the next year’s iPhone iteration.

Apple isn’t the first OEM to experiment with wireless charging

Wireless charging isn’t a bright new concept or other OEMs have not experimented with it at all. Rather it was the Samsung which first brought the wireless charging support in the flagship devices just a few years ago. But given the fact that this will be the first time that iPhone will feature the wireless charging support has helped in creating a buzz among the fans and critics. Among the range of Apple products only Apple Watch has so far made use of the wireless charging technology. It is worth noting that Apple has been hiring a number of engineers right from the wireless charging technologies in order to bring a more secured and effective wireless charging capability to its range of devices.

Foxconn on other hand tried to subdue the rumors by stating that it has already strated manufacturing the wireless charging modules for iPhone 8 but it shouldn’t be taken as a sign it will be brought right into the commercial version of the device. The possible inclusion of the wireless charging capability to the iPhone will depend upon the rate at which Foxconn can increase its yield or wireless charging itself works in the most user friendly manner.

Apple will release an OLED-based iPhone next year

Several reports have emerged in the past couple of months which has hinted towards the possible utilization of OLED based display for upcoming iPhone. These reports have stated in detail that front face of the device will be covered in glass which will allow users to tap even around the screen. The Touch ID finger print sensor will be placed right below the display screen or in simple words it will be artistically baked into the glass.

No confirmation has been made by the Apple regarding the possible use of OLED panels in iPhone 8. But the president of Sharp has accidently leaked this by speaking with the students at the Tating University where he specifically mentioned that even iPhone is moving towards OLED panels. However he didn’t say whether Apple is buying its OLED panels or not for the iPhone 8. Bringing OLED screen to the iPhone will not just bring a better and brighter display to the consumers but it also help in keeping the device sleek and slim.

Apple has made some controversial changes in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus which didn’t go well both with the geeks and critics. This included the removal of headphone jack and change in the home button in latest design change. But most of the users failed to recognize the long term plan of the Apple of improving the overall design and look of the device.

Through simple removal of the headphone jack Apple will be able to bring a design language on iPhone 8 which will feature lesser number of external ports. Through utilization of virtual home button Apple will be simply shifting the ‘on-screen’ home button to the users with a bigger screen size. It also opens up the possibility of bringing an edge to edge screen with lesser bezel and higher compact size in future iterations.

Another thing worth noting is that Apple’s patents are going in the direction of bringing compact and precisely defined device sin future. iPhone 7 is simply paving the way for the transition of the iPhone users to the sleeker and highly compact yet magnificently powerful device in form of iPhone 8 in 24 months time.
